What are you Passionate about?

When I decided to start my blog, it came from a place of need. A need to start focusing on the meaningful and not just the busy-ness of life. I found that I had become consumed with living the life expected of me and the roles I had inherited. It took some self awareness to realize that I was not creating my life with the same confidence I once had. My goals, my success, my happiness was now based on the expectations and approval of others. I could no longer find myself within myself if that makes any sense. With so many roles and so many masks worn to address multiple directions, I had lost Cheli. I needed her back in the drivers seat.

I needed her to take her rightful place in the creation of this gift of life. She needed to be reminded that her dreams, her passions - despite how messy, risky, beautiful, misunderstood, disruptive, endearing, useful - were still valid. So this journey to overcome fear and find purpose began, privately. But I eventually chose to create a public platform, (and I hope this blog will be one of many more sharing platforms to come) to share my perspective and my journey because I felt someone else might need to hear the same things I want to hear.

"When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too". - The Alchemist.

So what are you passionate about? What are those childhood dreams you've put on hold? Most importantly, what are you willing to risk as you make a decision to do what is needed to bring you closer to living out your purpose. Yes, there will be risks. Risks of loosing people, possessions, habits - your comfortable habits that have kept you afloat but not truly alive. Because passion is like fire. It burns; and the more you feed it, the more it spreads. So even though it may clear out the things you thought you needed, it is also clearing a path for you to see more clearly and identify what I can only define as your purpose. I'm passionate about Travel. I want to see and learn as much about the world as possible. I'm passionate about writing - my hope is to share my word play with the world. I'm also passionate about women empowerment and volunteering. My dream is to create a space were that kind of counsel and unconditional giving can thrive. Right now I'm identifying all the roads I need to take to get there. I'm finding the universe is putting people in my path that have become valuable resources and sources of inspiration.

My passion for volunteering actually led me to a great travel experience in Jaipur, India. Much more than I expected.

My hope is that once you start to identify your passion you'll simply start doing all the things you need to get you there. No complicated formula. Just decisiveness and follow through. Your passionate lifestyle will soon become more second nature. Less second thought.

"People need not fear the unknown if they are capable of achieving what they need and want.

We are afraid of loosing what we have, whether it's our life or our possessions and property.

But this fear evaporates when we understand that our life stories and the history of the world were written by the same hand"

- The Alchemist.

The same Creator that made every other beautiful, creative person in this world created you and I as well. All our dreams and passion are valid - no one is left behind.
