Great ideas are born in the time of chaos.
These are the times you will find communities come together, alliances are formed, reforms are made, and a revolution is born.
I've been observing, and I'm sure you have as well, that there has been a lot of discord in the world lately. There has been a lot of reasons to protest. We've been made painfully aware that there is still a lot of tension, discrimination and disagreement when it comes to -
Race
Gender
Leadership
Lifestyles
The media has been having a field day with this awareness by the way. They are never without content to share. Which is a plus for them work wise I guess. But for the rest of us - the readers, observers, and victims of the content - it's been overwhelming. Emotionally, Spiritually, and Mentally overwhelming.
But "chaos is a ladder".
This is my favorite quote from a now deceased character (Little finger) of the HBO series - Game of Thrones.
(Game of Thrones: I have been severely displeased with your absence this year. I have voiced my discontent to strangers, family, and friends. None of them seem to care and you probably won't either. But I digress...).
Little finger used chaos (that he created by the way) to empower his cruel agenda and cause discord and dissent among family and community. So while everyone was distracted and responding emotionally on one end, he was calmly strategizing and building on the other - like a game of chess. Like I stated earlier it did not end well for him, but he had a good run.
In the midst of chaos and confusion, you can choose to be distracted and give an emotional response to the discord. Or, you can choose to be still, observe, congregate, strategize, find that "ladder" within the chaos and climb the hell out of it!
Some "ladders" that were born from the recent chaos in our world -
Me Too Movement
Black Lives Matter
They are proof that you can innovate and build in the time of sorrow and darkness.
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.
Put on the full armor of God, so that you can make your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this world's darkness, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. - Ephesians 6: 10-12
In your personal life right now, are you being confronted with some type of chaos or confusion? Are you letting it distract you from purpose? Or are you maintaining your stand and staying focused on your purpose.
Ask yourself, are you feeding the chaos with the same negative emotional energy, or are you working silently in the dark, building; despite the chaos around you.
If you just stand still long enough in the midst of the chaos, mindful and calm, you will spot that ladder of innovation in the middle of it all.
Climb it.
